Broken Ladder Friendship Bracelet Pattern

Many types of friendship bracelet patterns are used by designers to make unique and trendy bracelets and one of the most popular designs is broken ladder friendship bracelet pattern. It is basically a mixture of two well-known patterns: Chinese staircase and Chevron. For this pattern, you need four different strings in colors of your choice. The strings are folded in half to make eight strings and a knot is tied to form a loop.

Next the same method of tying the knots is used as in the case of a chevron pattern. After a few knots, the swirl knot (as in Chinese staircase) is made and repeated about 8 to 10 times. Again, you have to make chevrons and then the swirl till the bracelet completes. Your broken ladder pattern is ready! You can use variations on the thread and colors according to your requirements. For example, instead of using four strings you can experiment with six or eight strings.

Friendship bracelets are not difficult to make and that is why even teenage girls love to make them at home. The good thing about these bracelets is that you don’t need a lot of equipment to make them and the materials are available for very reasonable prices. Broken ladder friendship bracelet patterns are very popular among people who like to make their own bracelets.

Modern bracelet patterns are variations of original designs derived from ancient Native American arts and crafts. One of these patterns is broken ladder friendship bracelet pattern which is a combination of two basic patterns. Before trying to use this pattern, it is recommended that you first learn to tie the basic knot.
